A packed calendar of events and activities brought residents and visitors together across the Emirate to celebrate a thrilling Eid Al Fitr holiday

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 16April 2024: In another exciting edition of Eid in Dubai, the entire city came together to celebrate a week-long public holiday packed full of thrilling live events, community activities, exciting performances, big-prize raffles, and amazing shopping offers. Organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), this year’s Eid festivities offered residents and visitors the chance to celebrate in unforgettable style.

Live shows brought the city out to enjoy music, theatre, and comedy

Local and international stars took to stages across Dubai for a thrilling schedule of events at the city’s arenas, theatres, and music venues. Saudi sensationAbdulmajeed Abdullah performed at Coca-Cola Arena, where famous Iranian vocalist Ebrahim Hamedi, known as Ebi; Afroworld star Rema; and Geronimo x Bamboo also brought their infectious hits. Persian singer Dariush came to Sheikh Rashid Hall in Dubai World Trade Centre and fans heard the stunning Kuwaiti singer, Nawal El Kuwaiti at Dubai Opera.

Iranian-American comedy starMazAminientertained crowds at Zabeel Theatre, whileacclaimed Egyptian singerMohamed Ramadan performed at The Agenda, Dubai Media City.  Legendary musical fiesta Elrow XXL headed to Media City Amphitheatre with Australian music producer, Fisher as the headliner.

Community events brought the spirit of Eid to the city

Outdoor events, markets, and firework displays offered families the chance to share treasured moments together this Eid, while enjoying Dubai’s wonderful weather.

Expo City Dubai hosted early morning Eid Prayers, before visitors headed to the Hai Ramadan Emirati neighbourhood set-up, while enjoying captivating cultural performances, workshops, and artisanal shopping.

At Global Village, visitors explored the Eid Wonder Souk and more than 27 other pavilions as they shopped for gifts and souvenirs. Musical fireworks displays lit up the skies each evening of Eid, accompanied by hundreds of cultural performances across the destination.

The Community Run came to the Ripe Market, bringing together all ages and abilities in an inspiring show of community and fun as participants ran or walked three routes of 2.5km, 5km or 10km. Visitors flocked to enjoy the popular bazaar and sample local artisan food, and shop for fashion and gifts.

The Ramadan Street Food Festival continued throughout the Eid holiday bringing visitors to Karama the chance to sample delicacies from more than 50 restaurants in the neighbourhood.

Winners were made in exciting Eid raffles

22 lucky shoppers won a total of AED 200,000 cash prizes in the Eidya Digital Raffle Promotion; winning six prizes of AED 15,000, six prizes of AED 10,000 and 10 prizes of AED 5,000. A total of 18 malls invited shoppers to take part in the raffle, including Arabian Centre, Dubai Outlet Mall, Lulu Hypermarket Silicon Oasis, and Times Square Centre.

Sports fans witnessed inaugural UAE-Qatar Super Shield

Sports fans came together to witness the first-ever UAE-Qatar Super Shield, the pinnacle of professional football which featured the champion of Adnoc pro league “Shabab Al Ahli” vs the champion of the QSL “Al Duhail”. This super match took place on 13 April at Rashid Stadium where a spectacular atmosphere as professional football met exhilarating entertainment.The match concluded with an awarding ceremony that featured the competition’s shield for the first time ever.

Stunning fireworks, light shows, and roaming entertainment captivated the city

Residents and visitors witnessed four spectacular firework shows every night of the Eid holiday at Dubai Festival City Mall, Hatta, Al Seef, Bluewaters Island, and The Beach, JBR. The displays were brought to the city by Al Zarooni Group. Meanwhile, the enchanting Eid Reflections displays at iconic landmarks across the Cityoffered a chance for the community to come together to take in a spectacular showcase embodied by the beauty of light.

Every day over the Eid holiday, roaming performers brought joy at malls across the City, including Mall of Emirates, Mirdif City Centre, City Walk, Dubai Festival City, Ibn Battuta Mall, Circle Mall, Bluewaters Island, The Outlet Village, Deira City Centre, Al Seef, Nakheel Mall, Boxpark, and Al Khawaneej Walk.
